At this point of Marquez's career, it's pretty obvious he won't be heading to the #1 spot at 38 yrs old. He's fought the best of the best and gave the #1 fighter of today all he could handle on top of winning a Lightweight title into the later yrs of his career after being a career Featherweight / Jr Lightweight.

Plus, look at the list of guys he's fought in the last 3-4 yrs.

Him fighting Morales isn't going to diminish Marquez's cred. He's already a shoe in for the HOF. I think you're making it a bigger deal than it really is.

Im a huge fan of JMM but im very disappointed in this fight. Its a joke fight. Seems to be the year for them.

It's ridiculous and unfair to Pacquiao just how many people are acting excited for Marquez-Morales and giving JMM a pass. Morales now is incomprehensibly worse opponent than any of the opponents Pacquiao gets blasted for fighting in the last 3 years.

yeah but marquez is old now hes proven himself his last 8 fights were all top/good contenders give him a break hes 37 and is going on his 59th professional fight IM PRETTY SURE ITS JUST FOR MONEY AT THIS POINT, pacs resume in his last 5 bouts is good but its against all come straight forward boxers with no head movement we all know that style is not a threat to him, is it his fault? No!!! But people caught on and are going to ride it until the end.... Its life PLUS PAC LOST TO MORALES IN THE FIS FIGHT SO IM GUESSING A 3RD FIGHT WAS THE TIE BREAKER SO IT MAKES SENSE

Pacquiao's wins over Morales are considered as defining wins in his career and are used to measure his greatest.

if Marquez was to beat Morales on the other hand, it's will only be remembered as a good pay day for the mexican fighter.

but you have to take into consideration Manny was there to avenge his loss against Morales (and it made sense financially); although i thought he should have fought Raheem.

the easy choice overall: Manny vs. Morales i/ii/iii > Marquez vs. Morales, i however dislike people overrating these wins.

no theyre not. Morales had just lost(badly) to Raheem, his career was virtually done at that point.

Pacquiao's win over Barrera is his best win to date.
