Julio Cesar Chavez in his prime had a brilliant chin, but he also had heart. So, no.

What the "heart" comments stem from are when fighters keep going on, no matter what happens in the bout. In the case of someone like Chavez, for example, he had to put up with faster guys and people that had perhaps better skill. He had heart when continuing to press forward and still trying to still land that one fight-changing punch.

With Khan, he has the heart to keep fighting, even when hurt.

All good/great fighters have heart for a variety of different reasons/circumstances.

not that i wanna go down this road, but compare the results of their knock downs in their fights. Taylor-Pavlik was a very different fight after Kelly hit the floor than Prescott-Khan. And the other few times Kelly hit the deck from a punch he also got up. Skill wise i give Khan the edge tho, in all but power.

Actually Khan got up from the first Prescott KD and tried to figt.

His chin is what let him down, but watch and he tried getting up.

He got dropped and hurt by Eillie Limond who had 5 Ko's. His chi. At 135 was bad.

He got up and carried on to win the enxt round. Watch it.

Khan always had heart, when hurt he would try and fight.

Pavlik has a solid chin, so his heart isn't wuestioned as much. Taylor isn't a Ko puncher, neither is Hopkins or Martinez. miranda is a bum.

i dunno. with prescott it was pretty much game over, and maidana almost KO'd him. if it was a few rounds earlier and maidana had more gas, it'd been a wrap

Yeah but that's like saying if Khan had landed that body shot with more then 10 seconds of a round left he would have tko/ko maidana

Actually i think that brutal shot was the reason for him not being able to finish khan..

Khan has a decent chin.. certainly not a good one imo.. if he had a truly glass jaw he would have been out vs Maidana as he got hit flush a number of times.

I don’t get this thread it makes no sense to me heart and chin are two entirely separate things.

You can have a great chin and little heart.

You can have a weak chin and a lot of heart.

When people say Khan has a great heart it’s simply because Khan has shown us in his fights he has a great heart on more than one occasion it has nothing whatsoever to do with his suspect chin (which is much improved at 140 evidently).

Please, keep the Pavlik references to a minimum. No matter what problems he has outside the ring I'm pretty sure he beats Khan in both the heart and chin department inside the ring.
