He's got all the talent to compete, but will always have a glass jaw?

Please, keep the Pavlik references to a minimum. No matter what problems he has outside the ring I'm pretty sure he beats Khan in both the heart and chin department inside the ring.

He showed determination rather than just wilt against Maidana unlike some 140lbers who will go nameless.

but yeah he does have a weak chin and always will be in danger of getting ko'd at anytime by any decent fighter with ok power.

      He has an average chin.

If it was certified "glass" then he would of been ko'd by about 12 of those maidana punches.

As for Pavlik "beating" khan, well he does have a better chin than Khan, but in the heart department, i'd say they are equal, i have never seen either quit.

        sort of.

but its also a compliment. It means when he gets smacked, its not going to be an automatic game over. he can survive and still win, even through the follow up, and then take the fight back in the next rounds.

makes him much less of a wild card. some guys get smacked and its basically the end of the line regardless of them getting up or not.

If Maidana thought for even one second at the end of the Khan fight, he would have knocked him out. He was gassed badly and just threw ****** punches. He worked the whole fight to get that opportunity at the end and he just wasted it.

not that i wanna go down this road, but compare the results of their knock downs in their fights. Taylor-Pavlik was a very different fight after Kelly hit the floor than Prescott-Khan. And the other few times Kelly hit the deck from a punch he also got up. Skill wise i give Khan the edge tho, in all but power.

Pavlik was less hurt by that knockdown because he has better punch resistance.

i dunno. with prescott it was pretty much game over, and maidana almost KO'd him. if it was a few rounds earlier and maidana had more gas, it'd been a wrap

well I said 'automatic' game over. the option of Khan being flat out KOed with a punch or two still always exists, as it does for all fighters to a degree, but if the first one or two punches dont end the fight right there, he can still keep going.
