One of the most exciting and entertaining fighters in boxing today has informed *********.com that WBO jr welterweight champion Miguel Cotto does not have to look any further for a credible opponent on his September 24th scheduled bout. Cotto, who is one of the great up and coming fighters, has been left without an opponent and his management has been looking for one. Emanuel still believes he has the skills to prove he is the one person to showcase himself on such a bout with an opponent of Cotto's abilities.
"I have been fighting guys that were supposed to demolish me and fighters that were supposed to be way out of my league, but yet, I'm still here," said Augustus.
Emanuel has expressed that he just needs for the powers that be to give him the stage and he will perform in great fashion and give his fans the entertainment they deserve. "Give me an opportunity! We have sparred together and they would have a clue on what to do with me. Who else is he going to fight?, or is he going to fight someone to protect his record? Give me a chance! I have said it before, who do I have to fight?" (to get to a world title fight). This fight against Cotto would be the opportunity that I have been looking for and they don't come around often, at least not for me."
When asked about Cotto and how his size and power put him in a great advantage over anyone at 140, Emanuel simply shrugs and says, "There is always a mismatch."
When asked how he feels about facing such a big opponent, his comments simply are, "My name is Emanuel Augustus." Emanuel did mention that Lou Dibella is his promoter and has been working hard for him to get him the big fights, along side with his new manager Robert Campos.
