    Khan.

Ortiz has to make a big comeback if he wants to be the best at 140. He has youth on his side and who knows what he will do in the next 5 years. I think he's gonna have to eventually move up to 147 and maybe he'll be better off there with Mayweather, Pacquiao, Mosley and Berto.

Khan is known by everyone on the streets indeed.

Only boxer entered for us in 2004 and he came back with a silver at 17.

Although that doesn't mean he appeals to all if the UK.

There's this ****** and English divide in the country ATM.

Not sure how he will do in the US but Khan is no where near Hatton big or even Haye big IMO.

In todays boxing world, Boxing superstars are expected not just to be great fighters but great at other things and having cross over appeal, Manny Pacquaio has politics, Music to backup his fighting and is a national icon, Mayweather has his money, promotional vehicle, dare I say it dancing with the stars!

I think after Pacman and Floyd, Khan has the most crossover potential, Exciting fighter to watch because of his speed and his problems with massive punchers, Good looking ( Not gay but he defo looks better than Bradley/Alexander/Maidana) and he benefits from the Pacman connection and he is from what I can see massive in the Uk to the extent that almost every person on the streets know who he is.

Ofcourse, Oritiz was meant to have all these key ingredients, Ie the looks, crossover appeal but I believe that Khan has replaced Ortiz as the next superstar.

So out of the 140lbers who has the most crossover/superstar potential?

          Here is my pick:

Khan won't make it big in the US without fighting mayweather or pacquiao...Bradley can only sell a couple thousand seats, Alexander is a question mark, Maidana is bad ass but no one will wanna interview him or take him to shows, but Ortiz has the story, personality, he's Mexican American, and a southpaw like Oscar, but the thing is he lacks the desire...Ortiz needs one championship fight to become huge! I don't think Kham has the attraction to sell PPV's in the US and should Ortiz vs Berto be made then that should headline the PPV cuz sad truth is not many Americans will pay to watch a ****** fight...That's why Khan won't sell ****...

Ortiz and Alexander were the only two that could have carried the sport, which is ironic since both of them have came up short.

Aside from those two I don't see any fighter in the sport capable of doing what they could have done.

I don't think Amir can, maybe in the UK he could have since the fans response is mixed over there. But over here I don't see him catching on for various reasons. I don't think Canelo can either. America LOVES good looking Mexican athletes (no **** lol), but Mexican gingers? I don't know about that.

not sure really obviously Ortiz and Alexander quit so not them, Bradley is not really someone who stands out although he continues to win, Khan has the qualities maybe to be a standout and star trainer but dont think he will be big in the US at least until he has more substantial fights. Maidana is exciting since he has the KO power and gutty performances..

Really? What do you base that on? Isn't Oscar De La Hoya the only one that has become a crossover star based on what he looks like?
