that aside, he seems alright so far. let's hold off any type of judgement until he reaches fighting top 5 or 10 caliber opponents.

Surely. Look at this internet forum. The leading boxing site on the internet has regular posters who are big fans of his at this early stage in his career.

Not to take away from him like you said.......

but when he eventually loses......the "exposed" threads are going to get out of hand. I like the kid though.

I have never seen a more hyped prospect since David Reid.

We shouldn't have to pay to watch Andre Ward's 4 and 6 rounders. He's eating up a spot on the undercard for a better fight - Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. does the same thing.

I like the Ward fights on Fox Sports Net. That's a more appropriate stage for him right now...

The thing is Andre Ward seems like a decent person, along with the fact he is a very good fighter and a gold medalist. He is the future of the middleweight division in my opinion.

He's already at 168; he's maybe better suited to be the future at light heavy?

Tarver vs. Jones 3 takes place on Saturday, October 1 at the St. Pete Times Forum live on pay-per-view. "It is an honor and a privilege to fight under two great champions," said Ward. "At the time I signed with Square Ring I hadn’t even had my pro debut, but it was always a dream to fight on the same card as Roy Jones, Jr. Now it’s a dream come true. I hope on October 1st I can set the tone and then Roy can come back and vindicate himself."

overhyped-definately... not because he talent doesnt match his hype, its because hes barely started his career and is on tv.

i like him but i dont like how he is doing the whole roy jones biting. needs to get his own boxing style.

david reid looked really good against tito until he let his defense go.

also david reid was rushed because of the whole eye thing.

Maybe you can explain it. From what I see....is a talented, undefeated Olympian who has yet to face a serious threat in the boxing ring. He has quckness and parallels are being drawn between he and RJJ.

I still say its way too early to hype him thoroughly. Look what happened to David Reid.

Would you not say.....it's a bit too early to determine this? I mean Reid looked equally as impressive at their respective early stages of their careers.....untill Ward is in title contention, could you label him as having a great "work ethic"?
