then he can dump GBP and sign with top rank for the shot at the p4p #1 fighterComment

What years were those fights again?
Exactly... every fighter (except 1, Hagler) on those posters were a known commodity when he promoted them. There are quotes from Arum himself on the current landscape for promoting black fighters and they don't support your 20 year outdated argument.
Mayweather was an undefeated, top 3 P4P, 4 division titlist for 8 years (1998-2006) and was still a relative unknown until he left Arum. Bradley in his hometown was outselling Mayweather in each of his hometowns (couldn't sell more than 3K in Grand Rapids or Las Vegas).
Go read something, so you can update your memory bank and get off Arum's ****. **** outta here ****.Comment

This is so bitchmade. Peterson couldn't hack it against Rios and somehow he deserves a shot at Zorrita??A Pacquiao fight should be enough to bait Bradley in, but in all reality, Arum doesn't know how/want to promote black fighters.
The Peterson brothers had a good buzz being featured on FNF and/or WNF a few times before linking up with Arum. They were reduced to sitting on the shelf and seeing their buzz die down in 2 years with TR. Instead of A. Peterson exerting his mandatory status against Soto, he was maneuvered toward an eliminator against Rios for a shot at Acosta.
If Bradley wants a good career win or lose, he should choose GBP. We're talking about a fight with Khan in the Summer; if he wins, a fight against JMM in the Fall/Winter; and if wins that, a possible fight in 2012 against Mayweather. If he loses at any time, he still gets to come back on HBO against a Maidana, Guerrero, Katsidis, Canelo, M. Hatton, or even Malignaggi.
Signing with Top Rank will get him an almost immediate shot at Pacquiao, but after Bradley loses, he'll be left out in the cold just like Clottey and the Peterson's were. He might not even get a Rios or Soto.
sheeeit.
They had 0 buzz. A couple fights on espn doesn't equal buzz.Comment

And if it wasn't for HBO making a reality show for him and forcing people to care about him outside the ring, he'd still be fighting in front of 3 people cuz' his style sucks. What years were those fights again?

I like you as a poster but that's a foolish comment given Arum's track record.A Pacquiao fight should be enough to bait Bradley in, but in all reality, Arum doesn't know how/want to promote black fighters.

Dude was promoting Ali, in the 70's, when racism was really bad.
Also he promoted guys like Haglar, Leonard and just recently got options on Shane on top of trying to lure in Bradely.
You guys need to stop listening to Floyd and his b.s. victim rants. Floyd's style, while under Top Rank, and non-aggressive attittude is why he couldn't sell or do big numbers.
He had to swaggerjack Hamed's persona to get where he is at. Had nothing to do with Arum holding him back/not knowing how to promote black fighters/not willing to promote black fighters.Last edited by Khalid X; 01-31-2011, 10:59 PM.Comment

What does the year matter? You said Bob Arum doesn't know how to promote Black fighters and he does not want to. Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Evander Holyfield, Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, etc would all laugh in your face if they heard you say something that absolutely ******ed in their presence. What years were those fights again?

You need to get it through your head that African-Americans are no longer dominant in Boxing, period. Two Russians use Black HWs as punching bags in Germany in front of tens of thousands every few months. The Hispanics and a few Asians run the lower weights, the only Black fighter who can draw was chased out of the sport by a Filipino, and we just saw how the 'superfight' played out
If Bradley wants to actually move tickets and get the biggest payday of his career, by far, he'll drop his HBO booking agent and get with a real promoter in Arum.
You need to take your race-baiting bull**** somewhere else playa.Comment

Look Mayas, he was Soto's mandatory and had to have been coerced/manipulated into fighting Rios in an eliminator and then Acosta. Fight the already popular and smaller Soto, who hasn't looked all too good (before the Antillon fight), or a strong, undefeated Rios, then a power puncher with a difficult style. Makes a world of sense...
Floyd became a huge PPV attraction after leaving Arum, put it however you want, doesn't change ****. Couldn't guarantee (which I can understand) Mayweather over $20M for an Oscar fight, he went and got it after leaving. $10M+ for Hatton, went and got over $20M afterward.
Couldn't draw a crowd against JLC in his Las Vegas hometown, can't draw less than 10K now and is setting attendance revenue records, even in criticized mismatches.Comment
