Mayweather is capable of beating opponents bigger than him,but not someone with the speed and boxing skills of Thomas Hearns.Mayweather's only option against Hearns is to use his defensive abilities to survive the distance.

Mayweather simply doesn't have the killer instinct of a Leonard; he doesn't have the chin of a Hagler; and he hasn't demonstrated the level of heart and determination that Iran Barkley had.

Floyd would be asking again for an OST...as an excuse for not fighting Hearns.

It still won't happen even if they are both active today.

However, if there's indeed a fight, floyd will win in a split decision.

Hearns will be tired running for and catching Floyd with left uppercuts and right straights..

That this is even a discussion tells you how good Floyd is in of itself
No it doesnt. It shows a lack of knowledge by even comparing the 2 at WW because Hearns murders him 100/100.

tommy hearns is the last man floyd mayweather would EVER fight

perhaps the worst match style for style he could pick of all the great WW

            he was huge
he wasnt just tall and long, he had msucle all day where you'd need it in a fifteen round professional boxing match
if you built a creature to fight at WW it would look like tommy hearns
he just so happened to be human
he had a tremendous jab and was an incredibly effective boxer at an inhuman range for a WW
he would have chewed up floyd's best punches in his prime
and if he couldn't take floyd's shot's (laugh) he would have had no problem boxing off the back foot and winning a decision against mayweather, who wouldnt be close enough to counter or active enough to score more points
and most importantly he had the big right hand that would land on floyd's head (ask shane, the shot is there if you can take the heat in floyd's kitchen)

you dont need me telling you this
ring magazine put a piece out: "10 guys who would have whipped mayweather's butt"
and tommy hearns was the only sure fire kayo they had on the list

tommy hearns by big one punch stoppage whenever he catches floyd.
probably in the middle / late rounds

Not only hearns has the punching power but he also has great boxing skills and footwork to go along with that power and southpaw stance which we know floyd normal defense doesn't work well with.

Hearns is a big match up problem for floyd.

Also and even if they were in the same era, floyd wouldn't fight him anyway. If he cant give us pacquaio vs floyd what make you think floyd would want to fight a southpaw who has better footwork, taller, and more skilled with far more puncher power than pacquaio.

I'm a huge Floyd fan but Hearns would just be too much physically...he's probably the freakiest welterweight ever. To be fair though there isn't a welterweight on the planet today that Hearns wouldn't have brutalized so it's kinda unfair just to use Floyd here. Hearns would stop Pac within 5 rounds and would most likely stop Floyd too.

this is the first time pbf is losing a fantasy fight..

but seriously, hearns would do no justice on todays welterweights..
