Comments Thread For: Froch Says Super Six Clause Prevents David Haye Double

WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch would have liked to take part in a doubleheader with his close friend, WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, but he doesn't believe it's possible. Froch faces Glen Johnson in the semi-finals of the Super Six tournament on May 21, which is the same date as Haye's scheduled title defense at the O2 Arena in London.

It could still work. Haye's fight in the UK at about 10PM UK time, then have Froch fight in the US at the time that Showtime wants. That way actually works out better, you get two lots of ticket sales instead of one, and the times of the fights don't clash with each other. That's how they did the last PPV, with the Warren show followed by Khan-Maidana. Possibly I'm mistaken here but I think Wlad-Chisora was also going to be part of the PPV on December 11th? So if they can do 3 events in 3 countries they could certainly do 2 events in 2 countries.

Thats what will prob happen. I think david haye will need Froch to earn PPV buys for his next fight. People are realising he is a chicken after the harrison debacle and wont pay for another below sub par opponent. If haye was a man he would fight an eddie chambers caliber fighter in may. Hey why doesnt he just fight arreola? Oh wait.... arreola would be a test and could put his lights out so he wont bother. I fancy him to fight maybe a holyfield or kevin johnson type fighter. Someone who wont be able to hurt him.

I knew this months ago when the Sky ******s pitched the idea.

It's a ****** idea anyway. Any doubleheader will end up with David Haye fighting a bum in the main event while the real fighter, Froch, gets relegated to the undercard as punishment for having balls and taking risky fights.
