Comments Thread For: Adamek-McBride Finalized: Tomasz Says He'll Be Ready

A deal has been closed for 6'6 Kevin McBride (35-8, 29 KOs) to face Tomasz Adamek (43-1, 28 KOs) in April. The Polish former champion wants to use the height and size of McBride to prepare for a scheduled fight with one of the Klitschko brothers in September. The exact date and location, Poland or the United States, has not been revealed. Despite some of McBride's shortcomings, Adamek will not overlook his opponent with a huge fight already scheduled for September.

    I understand why.

And I like that Adamek is staying active.

But I stil hate this fight.

    But its a smart move.

No need to risk a big fight agaisnt the Klits.

good choice, at least IF either of the klits fights gets made he will get to measure up someone else around the same height,of course different skill level, but at least same size with mcbride. beat his azz adamek for what he did to mike for me.

        you are so wrong

Adamek is hurting his preparation for a Klit by fighting those stiffs, size doesn't matter if you can't fight for *****t

in other words, Adamek would have been better off fighting a smaller more skilled fighter, facing a 6'6 punching bag doesn't prepare you for a Klit

I seriously hate the Heavyweight division right now...

            Adamek is fighting Bum Mcbride
Wlad vs a guy with 14 fights
            Haye vs HIV positive Chagaev
Vitali vs a Cuban dying of obesity.

            It should be:

            Haye/Wlad
            Vitali/Adamek
            Solis/Chisora

              McBride is better than Fraudley.

There's no "potentially" about it, the contract is already signed for the fight in Poland in September.

But beating up a punching bag is not useful preparation for fighting a fighter with the skills of either Klitschko. He'd be better off sparring than taking a fight with someone as bad as McBride - it's a completely pointless fight.

Tua is shot, so is Toney, so those are bad examples. Tarver is not a real Heavyweight and is also fairly shot. Someone like Tony Thompson would be far better preparation than McBride, though.

Rubbish. Fraudley is awful but McBride is far worse even than him - which is why he's ranked 211 by boxrec. He's lost four of his last five fights, mostly to complete bums.

Yeah, Adamek doesn't care who he's fighting, I don't think. It doesn't matter if it's a McBride or a Klitschko.
