Dirrell's odds of winning his next fight (Ward) was very slim. In the event of a loss, Dirrells career would need a lot of rebuilding with 2 losses and a win where he was KTFO.

Seems to me that Dirrell would have a much brighter future if he could get out of the tournament and fight another day.

Kessler vs Dirrell anyone? It could be billed as "Battle of the Super 6 Dropouts."

All joking aside, this is pretty interesting matchup....

I honestly can't believe Dirrell still has fans. I mean, he is a real talent and he could be the best in the division if he grew a pair, but he has done so much damage to his reputation recently for three reasons:

            * Dirrell expected to take a decision in a champion's backyard by running, holding and only firing occasional combinations. I actually had him beating Froch, who was poor on the night, but I have no sympathy for such a negative, gutless performance. No one was expecting him to go to war with Froch, but I expected a little more engagement.

            * Dirrell lost his nerve completely in the Abraham fight, having dominated most of the bout, simply because Abraham was coming on strong late. No one can say for sure, but considering his actions after the fight in dodging Ward, I'm fairly sure he made a meal of Abraham's illegal punch. Abraham clearly doesn't put everything into the shot and it glances Dirrell at best. Unless Dirrell had brain problems before the fight or from harder shots earlier in the fight, I feel he was faking.

            * Dirrell ducked a fight with Ward with completely laughable excuses about his brain issues, issues that only emerged after the two camps failed to agree a deal to fight. Can anyone tell me they were convinced by Dirrell or his trainer from the Fight Camp 360 footage?

Someone explain if that makes any sense.
A cynical person might suggest that Kessler wanted to take time off while the other Super Six contestants tear each other apart.

That way he can step in after the tournament is over, well rested and facing a worn down opponent.

I could careless if he ever fights again all the guy does is run. I remember the first time I saw him, it was on HBO and after that fight I have never had any intrest in him. The sad thing is he has skill, to bad he thinks he on a track team.

Let's get Dirrell onto the same card as Devon Alexander and Kermit Cintron, and have an all Black Eye card.
