    Real Fighting

    Hellooooo everyone

I have never been in a real fist fight, infact I have never even boxed competetivly. However I had a few questions for those who have both. In a real fight, is it practical to use what you've learned in boxing, or is it an all out brawl? I know your punches will be much harder and better if your a boxer, but in real fights there is kicking and wrestling. If a fight starts, would knowing how to "box" help you in a real fight? I'm just curious - thanks

I'm not sure if this post fits here or if it's just dumb though I'll give it a shot. In a real fight, ANYTHING goes. If your still using your barehands and haven't picked up something to hit the guy back with, I highly doubt any boxing skills will help. There will be kicking and tackling and anything to get your opponent down on his back so you can pummel him ontop. I always thought if anything ultimate fighters would be better off in a street fight since what they do it like street fighting except they gotta know everything about how to deal with when being on the ground and whatnot. So to answer your question I'd say no, instinct takes over and your just doing whatever it takes.

Most of the time when its a real fight it is very hard to Jab away and keep the guy at bay. Fist fights last about 20 seconds max and its a all out assaults. Most fights are with punches only and kicks when it hits the floor. Someone is always going to rush and charge the guy. Knowing how to box would only be effective because you would know how to throw crisp punches while the other guy is jus swinging away. but overall everyone goes to instincts especially if the fight is unplaned and last for only 20 seconds

Boxing is an art. Street Fighting is a brawl.

basic will have its advantage in punches thrown, but in a street fight an aggresor/swarmer will definetly have a huge advantage rather than a tactical boxer

I think their is no denyin a boxer would have an advantage. They are in better shape and throw harder faster punches. But when it hits the ground (id say about 80% of the time it does) it doesnt matter how much boxin skill u have

I have been in a few fights the toughest and most brutal man wins, thats it. Understand this who ever you are fighting is tring to hurt you maybe with real bad intent. Don't screw around take him out as fast and as hard as you can and never ever give up when in a fight. You also have to be able to read your opponent if its a fair stand up fight just go in there and give as good as you get and then walk away keep it cool keep your mouth shut and leave. You have the right to defend yourself but the other guy may just be acting ****** and not intending to hurt you really, thas why I say figure out your opponent. The best thing I can say is don't fight at all its not fun and people can get hurt, if someone is trying to shine you on, just walk away keep it cool and keep your mouth shut. Like the ref says though protect yourself at all times.

Boxing can help greatly in a streat fight because it really teaches you how to punch but your going to get little opertunity to do so most street fights end up on the ground. Just be carefull is what I'm really saying and swollow your pride and walk away.
