This is a very simple matchup. Very easy to analyze IMO.

And it all starts with Gamboa's discipline and composure.

He has the skills to outbox , and pick his spots against Juanma. If he can stay calm , he can take it. But at the same time. He does get more tired than Lopez. In the middle rounds he takes his foot off the gas. And the late rounds , he tries to come back strong , (and he does) but kind of tired and sluggish while at it.

Lopez can take bombs. And not be dropped. While gamboa is kd very easily I would say. Even tho hes not really rocked , and he still has his legs under him. The punches that have knocked him down , do not have half the mustard Juanma possesses.

Power - 9..................10 His power has a lot to do with how much his speed decreases throughout the fight

Overall boxing abilities , Gamboa takes it. I think Lopez has more heart.
Gamboa has the kind of speed that catches you , off balance , without you seeing it. And can knock u out cold. Lopez has 1 punch ko power. But I thin it will take more than 1 to knock HURT Gamboa. He can possibly Knock him down. But he wont be badly hurt.

Its a toss up for me. Both guys are great. And this fight will happen.

I agree with mostly everything Gamboa doesnt have more boxing skillsss than Juanma. Ill say Juanma is a 8.5 and Gamboa a 7 in boxing skills and Gamboa is not tha big of a puncher either, Ill say a 8

I see what your trying to say, but Juanma, sets up everything with his jab, uses as a rage fnder and to control hiss opponet. He is far better putting combinations and moves well. Gamboa is just fast, a la Roy Jones

We can have a reasonable discussion on this specific topic. Much of what we have to say for either guy is debatable. But I seriously disagree with the bold. All those former Cuban amateur champs are well-schooled, skilled fighters. Guys like Gamboa are so naturally gifted that they forego conventional tactics and do what feels right. He's good enough to improvise. Less gifted fighters have to rely on classical techniques. Yuri is ****y for a reason; his whole life has been spent feasting on less talented fighters. Make no mistake, though, Gamboa is highly skilled.

I think its going to be a shock when Gamboa man handles Lopez cant handle pressure and Gamboas deffense its putting punches in your face hes a whole new animal when the fight actually matters and you can see that he wants it other times he either seems bored or tries to make the point he can go to distance and still wins by a landslide ive never seen a fight when the boxer gets told ok you showed enough now let d dogs loose on him and knocks a world championship tittle contender out within 40 seconds of being told that to me made him the truth.

True story. I was very impressed by that. Definitely made me wonder how often Gamboa might "carry" an opponent, or "get some rounds in". As for being bored in the ring? I can't say, but I wouldn't doubt it, either. Yuri seems to coast when he doesn't get the early KO. Some of the comments here have made me consider Gamboa's attitude in the ring in a different light. One thing is for sure, he won't be taking JuanMa lightly.
