Comments Thread For: Juanma Breaks Down a Fight With Yuriorkis Gamboa

WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (30-0, 27KOs) is ready for the challenge of WBA/IBF champ Yuriorkis Gamboa (19-0, 15KOs). Their promoter, Top Rank, is still building a potential fight between the two boxers. They might possibly fight each other in the fall. Lopez will face former champion Orlando Salido on April 16 in Puerto Rico. Gamboa will go up against WBA interim-super featherweight champion Jorge Solis on March 26. If Lopez and Gamboa win, they will likely return in the summer against separate opponents and then it's possible they will meet each other in the fall.

Gamboa doesn't get tired, he gets bored. Dude is so much better than the opponents he fights that just loses interest, you can see it.

Maybe in the ring with someone of equal talent it would be different, but maybe not. If Gamboa stays focused for 12 rounds, I think he beats Lopez. He lapses at all, Lopez is easily good enough to make him pay, and pay badly.

who givas a crap what juanma thinks or what gamboa thinks its going to happen, just make the freakin fight and stop all this teasing crap. The great thing about making the fight is that all the theories we hear about every day go out the window, and its al left in the ring. I gotta go with my dude gamboa, but its a tough fight for either one thats what makes it a great fight

Bored? If he gets so bored why doesn't he finished the opponent off? Him being bored = Fans being bored (like his last fight with Salido). JuanMa did make a point that he does indeed tire after being explosive for the first several rounds. Gamboa tends to cruise his way to an easy points win if he can't take out his opponent early.

Gamboa is gonna get Knocked the ****kk out!!! He's been dropped several times already by no name contenders. Gamboa tends to come in too wild which is part of his inexperience as a very young fighter. If he comes in all crazy against Juanma, He's gonna go to sleep real quick. Juanma has already fought world class fighters and in my opinion, he's a much more mature harder punching boxer.

Gamboa is gonna get knocked out period..... End of story.... All of you Puertorican haters can lick my balls....

This fight will happen eventually. I hope Arum doesnt wait too long though. I ran in to Juanma this past weekend and asked him about a fight with Gamboa and he said it will happen soon.. who knows.
