Mendy is Bute's mando. Bute's last mandatory defense was Andrade if I remember correctly so he'll likely be stripped if he doesn't fight Mendy. Do you think Bute would vacate his belt for a crack at Kessler? I dont.

And there is no way Bute will fight Mendy. His team already said so, and I am pretty sure the IBF will do something like asking Mendy to fight in another eliminator because of the way he got his win against Bika. And since Bute always fought his mandatory without complaining, I think he has some leverage to ask it of the IBF.
