Martinez is very beatable. Work off the jab and don't lower your hand when you throw the hook.

Now my hopes for Sergei to win are gone might as well sign with Golden Boy while he is at it.

But will that be enough to beat Martinez? I thought HBO basically forced this fight to happen because they said this was the most competitive fight for Martinez, but whenever I read people's comments here they all say Maravilla will win easily. I really don't know what to think about this fight.

Buddy is the right trainer for his style. Dzinziruk fights very tall with a very disciplined champion calibre jab. Buddy will teach him how to cover distance and set up traps with the jab and his power hand a la tarver - jones 1. Buddy is good for fighters that are about to face a slick fighter. He is not good with slick fighters period. Dzinziruk will be much much harder than pwill (better technique and discipline) I see this much like the middle rounds of the pavlik fight, chess match, hard punches, do not underestimate this dude - he is very good.

This will actually be a good fight, as far as action, but Martinez will outclass Dzinzurik.

Dzinzurik's jab isn't as authoritative as I previously thought, so he won't control range for long stretches at the elite level. He doesn't have much power, so Martinez doesn't have much to worry about and can close distance to initiate exchanges when he wants. He doesn't fight as tall, his defense isn't as good, and he doesn't have a second gear as I previous thought either.

I thought this fight was pretty much a lock to go the distance... Now? Not so much, and it has nothing to do with McGirt as the new trainer. Watch Martinez seriously outclass this man and get discredited just like his other wins have. I've already seen people implying Dzinzurik is better than Williams and Pavlik. Dzinzurik is a good fighter, but not good enough.
