Why Are People Not Hating On Sergio Martinez For Wanting To Fight Cotto and Pacquiao

Pacquiao weights at 144-145 pounds and Cotto according to Steward was at 150 one week before the Foreman fight and they had him eat just so he could gain 3 pounds before the fight.

because one week before Cotto’s last fight with Foreman he was down to 150 pounds and we had to have him start eating to get his weight back up to the junior middleweight limit
Martinez is a natural 160 pound fighter.

Because he has had a string of impressive wins against people who actually posed a threat to him. Generally people are prepared to cut him some slack, same way people cut Pacquiao some slack when fighting Clottey. If he keeps pulling **** like that people would start pointing it out.

That being said, Pacquiao and Cotto carry belts at 154lbs so if they continue to operate at that weight class they are fair game.

I think it's cheap for him to want these fights.... Hes asking naturally smaller fighters to come up in weight and fight him....

That's like anybody from the Super Six giving him crap for not fighting them...
Come on Manny is a little dude......

Because he fought Cintron, Williams, Pavlik, Williams, in that order. Not too many active fighters have a lineup like Sergio's. And now add to that Sergiy Dzinzuruk. That's 5 tough[well I don't know about Cintron being tough] opponents in a row.

He deserves at least one lite touch at 36 years old.

He’s earned his stripes, let him have payday -- and despite their size, they’re not necessarily pushovers.

well he can fight a bum in his division if you wanna cut him some slack. unless what you really meant was to give him a nice payday which is the only sensible reason why he's seeking a fight with pac and cotto.

I'm one of the biggest Pacquiao fans on this site and I want to see this fight happen.

I also know other Pacquiao fans who want to see it happen as well.

IMO most Pacquiao fans are just firing back because people are saying Manny is ducking Sergio.

Would I like to see it happen. Absolutely. Is Manny obligated to face him....by no means.
