According to former three division champion Erik "El Terrible" Morales, he received a call from Golden Boy Promotions who advised him that a deal was reached with WBO/WBA lighte champion Juan Manuel Marquez, and their fight would move forward on April 9 in Las Vegas with HBO involved. Morales said "some outstanding issues" with Marquez were fixed. "The fight will move forward," said Morales.

About the fight, i Think its a great lightweight clash... if this were on Jr welterweight for a wbc belt, it would have been an insult to other mexicans who are trying to achieve 4 belts in 4 weight different divisions

Marquez has a problem. To increase his chancce for a Pacman fight he needs to move ups (140) and beat somebody like Khan, Bradley-Alexander winner...etc.
The probem is that i'm not sure he will win agianst them and th clock is ticking faster for JMM.

One thing is for sure, whether it turns out to be a good fight or not, he will gain nothing by fighting Morales!!!!
