I know people are *****ing about this fight, but it's not like both guys are in their primes. Both are flat out old in age and boxing years too. Marquez just happens to have aged better.
However, you have to look at it like this. Our great rivalry of boxing, like Duran, Leonard, Hagler, Hearns and Benitez was made up of Barrera, Morales, Marquez and Pac. The only fight that didn't happen, like Hagler/Benitez, was Morales and Marquez and yes, it's not a good fight anymore but it's still a historic battle that is important in principle. These two legendary warriors deserve to go out with this fight in particular and though it may be terrible (no pun intended) it might actually turn out half decent.
Both are at the end of their careers and both deserve a money scrap.Comment

According to former three division champion Erik "El Terrible" Morales, he received a call from Golden Boy Promotions who advised him that a deal was reached with WBO/WBA lighte champion Juan Manuel Marquez, and their fight would move forward on April 9 in Las Vegas with HBO involved. Morales said "some outstanding issues" with Marquez were fixed. "The fight will move forward," said Morales.
