Not that the WBO is worth a ****, but I wonder what proposed opponents they turned down? Was Pirog's promoter proposing even less deserving fighters than Ishe Smith, who lost two of his last three, both against guys in the WBO rankings? Really too bad that Pirog has had to wait so long for a fight because he's not a spring chicken and after his big KO of Jacobs, he deserves better. I know this is his gimmie defense, but can't wait to see him in with a big hitter like Golovkin or a top fighter like Martinez

Perhaps, nobody just wants to fight Pirog after watching him dismantle the overhyped Jacobs. It could also explain why he is having a hard time looking for opponents.

Its a pretty good defense, I though Ishe edged Guerrero in their fight but obviously the young prospect is going to get the nod.

Definitely wouldn't mind seeing this fight. Hope the WBO approves Smith. I don't know what it is but I always seem to root for the guy.
