It really irritates me when fighters like Froch, who have a large hometown following and can draw large crowds, have to fight in backwaters like Atlantic City in front of 2000 people. Froch vs Johnson in Nottingham would sell out the Trent FM arena easily. Why have it in Quebec or Atlantic City? It makes no sense.

        A no name??

This guy was the 2004 Ring Magazine fighter of the year (when he KO'd another 'no-name', and is one of the most respected people in the business.

He does deserve, and will get his say.

I agree that Johnson is definately not a 'no-name', but in this case Froch deserves the advantage as he is the champion and an original entrant in the tournament. By the sounds of it the fight will be the US though, which doesn't really make any sense financially either.

I'm sure that Froch wants it in the UK, so he's not going to put much effort into finding a location in the USA to make the fight. Keep in mind his promoter is pretty small-time even in the UK, so he's not going to be able to just book a venue with a phone call.

            They'll get it sorted out.

              nail on the head

he's so small time that he still hasn't been able to sort out an event that was known about for four months

Froch wants to find himself a new promoter!
