Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (35-0, 26KOs) is preparing for a war against Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16KOs), the younger brother of Ricky Hatton. He says Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya selected Hatton as the opponent. Alvarez wants to make it a real war to gain the support of the Mexican fans in California. The bout will happen on March 5 at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

Yeah, matt hatton is a very able boxer. imo, he loses this fight by UD, maybe ven late tko. but i hope he can put on a good performance

Canelo is not ready for the big time yet, Matt never will be. At this stage this is a brilliant fight for Alvarez. Baldamir, M. Hatton are great low risk, high face value opponents. Saul can scrap, he needs to work on movement and defense while keeping the fans interested. Hatton has improved the last few years, but needs the fight of his life to keep this competitive past 3 or 4 rounds. He has to get Sauls respect by making him pay for coming straight in with no head movement, if Alvarez is allowed that, Matt takes a beating. Like Cotto/ mayorga, we know who should win, we just hope the underdogs show up.
