Arum got mad that HBO didn't want his in-house fights

Isn't this what it all boils down too? HBO told Bob that Vanes-Cotto was unacceptable.

And rather than make a more attractive fight for Cotto with someone not from Top Rank good ol' Bob chose to take his ball and go home.

Personally I'm glad that HBO put their foot down on Arum's bull****. Unfortunately he is now going to try to pull the same crap on CBS.

It's a lot more than just this fight, though.

Arum feels that HBO is too close to Golden Boy and that HBO is trying to play promoter. HBO, in many ways, is trying to do that. However, simply for ratings, which is the business they're in.

They need fights and fighters that fans give a **** about. Casual fans at that. It only helps the sport to some degree, with exposure.

However, it can also mean that good fights with less-attractive name value get left on the cutting room floor.

So, it's a good and bad. Like anything else in life.

Bob Arum is a genius. People are no longer talking about what a *****y fight Pacquiao-Mosley is. All people are talking about now is that the fight is going to be on Showtime.

Good fight? Cotto should be fighting Martinez instead of Mayorga.

I think Cotto-Vanes is a more legit fight than Martinez-Cotto. Martinez is a Middleweight who would kill Cotto, while Cotto-Vanes are both Jr. Middleweight and it's a more competitive fight.

Martinez is the best fighter at 154 and 160. Nobody can say a fighter at 154 is better than Martinez.

Wasn't Martinez the champ at 154?

In House Fights?............ Mayorga is promoted by King, and Mosley is currently a free agent being represented by J. Prince.
