Yeah, originally this thread said Larry Merchant, but then they changed it to Sugar. So that's why I made the comment about Merchant that I did.

honestly whats so special about beating margarito now and mayorga?.mayorga is like semi retired, and margarito is now a beat up fighter, whats special about that?,whats special about beating margarito when he's coming off a beating?...i can understand if he defeated manny,or any other champ but he lost, and badly and don't even care about mayorga,so why should anybody cry about those victories if cotto wins? patheticI hope to see all these Cotto haters back here when he KOs Mayorga & retires Antonio "yeso de tijuana" Margacheato, but thinking about it you all will be back like roaches saying that cheato was over the hill, like most of you said Rafa was already damaged when Juanma got him quitting on his stool "ohh my shoulder hurts" sore losers.Comment

Always said the key to beating Miguel Cotto is to take away his
punch and stop his pressure. Cotto can't adjust at all and gets
mentally discourage when he is not being effective. I was the one
who called it first and everyone on boxingscene thought I was hating
but now everyone is saying the same thing I said about Cotto.
Cotto was dominate against same level and lesser fighters but as
he fought guys he couldn't KO, he started getting discouraged
or back peddling. With that said, I give Cotto his props for fighting
in some good, competitive matches but he had untapped potential
and the only thing that stopped him from going to the very top was
his attitude towards changing his corner up. He should have been
had someone like Emmanuel Stewart before the Margarito fight.Comment

Ring generalship??? Is that what hugging, running, cheating, holding, pushing, not trading, etc. is called??? Thatīs what 90 % of blackies do.Whenever a black fighter uses ring genaralship but doesn't put up an overly exciting fight like Hopkins or Mayweather Merchant is quick to call those guys lame. But whenever Cotto runs and only wins a fight with a jab as Merchant alluded to when Cotto beat Mosley, Cotto is a warrior. Merchant is funny to me and I don't hate the guy, but he does use double standards. And I'm not even black either.Comment

Cotto to his credit isn't a clincher. But even though it isn't in this thread in particular I've heard Merchant say the same exact thing about Cotto praising him for boxing against Mosley when in reality he ran and back peddled. And Mayweather beat Shane in way more exciting and braver fashion even if it was an older version. But Merchant never gives Floyd or Hopkins for that matter credit for anything because he hates black fighters. That was the point I was making and it's true.Comment
