    Juanma gets sloppy seconds

Watch some sensitive ricans come in and start crying and try to get all political. i actually have no problem with salido being an opponent for a warm up fight however i do have a problem with fighting marquez again after he beat him easily and not making the gamboa fight any time soon, ***** bob arum or that gay looking dude rivera or who ever is pulling the strings .

By Chris Williams: Instead of stepping up and facing Yuriorkis Gamboa, World Boxing Organization (WBO) featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (30-0, 27 KO’s) will be facing Gamboa’s last victim, Orlando Salido (34-11-2, 22 KO’s), in Lopez’s next fight on April 16th at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente, San Juan, Puerto Rico. All I can say is I hope Bob Arum isn’t making this a pay-per-view fight because I don’t pay a cent to see Lopez beating up on a guy that was soundly beaten by Gamboa.

How in the world can Lopez be facing Salido next when Salido is coming off a one-sided two-knockdown loss to Gamboa. What’s the point? I think this is a terrible choice for Lopez. Come on, shouldn’t Salido at least have to beat someone in his last fight to get a title shot against. I mean I know that Manny Pacquiao, another one of Arum’s fighters, sometimes takes on guys that are coming off a loss, but does that mean that Lopez has to do it too?

Why doesn’t Arum match Gamboa and Lopez? What’s he waiting for? Lopez got rocked in his last fight against Rafael Marquez. If Arum waits too long, either Gamboa or Lopez are going to get beat and then Arum won’t be able to put together a cash out fight between them. There is such am thing as waiting too long. Gamboa and Lopez need to fight each other because they are never going to get popular on their own beating up on guys like Salido over and over again. Good god, what’s the point in this fight. They might as well have picked out Bernabe Concepcion and had him go another round with Lopez, because at least that fight would be entertaining. Salido is limited and will lose again.

Obviously, Arum wants them to have a few common opponents before their showdown. I don't really like the fight, but I'm not really surprised. Common opponents add to the hype.

I do agree with the author that Arum needs to make this fight soon before one of these guys loses because they're both very vulnerable.

I'm a Gamboa fan, but even I can admit that Juanma's resume at this point shits all over Gamboa's. Gamboa needs a high profile fight asap.

So did Gamboa, he fought Mtagwa after Juanma even though Gamboa did better. We will see if Juanma can KO Salido than everyone will say that Juanma is better because Gamboa couldnt stop him. All this nonsense about these meaningless fights is making boxing even weaker

I am sensitive to Gamboa, and the fact that Juanma is going to hurt him. Other than that, I am patient and know it's always a matter of time before the good fights take place.

First of all Gamboa fought Mtagwa after Juanma beat him.
Second the Gamboa-Salido fight wasnt one-sided at all. Salida KD Gamboa and made him look bad.
Third is arum not matching them up, is not Juanma. Juanma already stated that he wants Gamboa asap.

It amazes me that people keep complaining about this stuff over and over again. First of all, there is a business side to boxing and second, no fighter is afraid of another, it's promoters who are afraid to have their cashcows lose and lose their investments so people should stop with the "ducking" stuff.

Gamboa and Juanma will fight probably at the end of 2011 or early 2012.

Juanma is underachieving because of Arum.
