I don't think it was a "great" stoppage. Had I been reffing, I would have let it continue, but I understand why he stopped it. BT was being hit, and making no effort to return fire. The wideness of Jones's punches should have made it easy for him. The ref yelled a few times to show him something, BT didn't.
if thats you in your avatar he was probably your brother you damn redneck.

That original post was the most unreadable post I have ever tried to read. (I only made it to the CAPS part)

The ref did not (and probably still does not) realize that in championship fights and eliminators... that the fighters are able to take more punishment than your average boxer.

For a FNF undercard, the fight was correctly stopped.

For the main event on a showtime card, the ref does not have the kind of authority that he justified that he had. He could have said that Brathwaite was down either the time that he put his hand down or the time that he fell into the ropes.

Someone like Frank Cappicino would have let the fight go until one fighter was on his back for about 15 seconds. I saw Gatti Ward (one)earlier today, and you could have justified that both of them could have been stopped at least once or twice.

Some of the blame also has to placed on Brathwaite. If he is going to be leaning on the ropes getting battered, he is better off going down to regroup rather than risking getting stopped. There were actually quite a few intevals where one guy landed 10 unanswered punches.

At the end of the day, Jones was clearly the better fighter and clearly was going to win the fight, so the question of "was the fight stopped to early?" in moot.

No it isnt moot. thats the damn problem everyone lets these gay ass refs off the hook for anything and doesnt stick to anything. cappucino could have easily stopped the gatti fight in round 9 with ward beating the **** out of him. jones was not clearly the better fighter and really neither was braithwaite b/c they both landed good shots and the fight was stopped to ****ing early and we dont have a clear winner.

as for me using ****ing paragraphs get over it you damn bitches. if you can read wtf is the damn problem.

he got a good right but if you look at the mormeck tape then the jones fight ..braithwaite changed how he punched so his power was weaker.. the new trainer got him punchin with more technique but it ****ed him up he can punch as hard.. he dont let his hands fly the same or wing the punches like he used to ..before he punch kinda like roy jones but more technical now he tryna punch like mayweather ..it look like he landin with the first 2 knuckles not stead of the last 3

It was a great fight. Braithwaite could have been hurt bad if the fight continued.

I can see why the ref stopped it, but I don't agree with it. BT was still bobbing and weaving. In my book that's called defending yourself. Sure he got caught with a few punches, and sure he didn't return fire, but he had the presence of mind to see the punches coming and try to get away from them.
