Getting off cable, and more importantly getting off a premium cable network which further limits viewership IMO is HUGE. The fact that this fight will actually play out in the ring in exciting fashion, could potentially be tremendous for boxing. If Mayweather were to agree to the fight after this huge Pacquiao commercial, it could be a tremendous buildup and credit for boxing as a sport.
If Pac/Mosley 24/7 is on CBS, What will the PPV be?

My understanding is that CBS' role would be to televise a 24/7-type series leading up to the fight, perhaps on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon or in late night.
That could indicate one show or maybe you're right and it's a series. That would be cool. He doesn't know though he's speculating.Comment

Depends how big the promotion is. CBS has far more resources and a much bigger audience than HBO will ever have. There's no comparison between the #1 network on TV and a pay channel.
If CBS does a 24/7 type series, promotes it during the NCAA tournament, and launches it after the NCAA tournament...it could be the biggest fight since De La Hoya-Mayweather.
But if it's just a 30 minute infomercial a week before the fight that gets no promotion on any of the CBS shows, it'll end up doing significantly under 1 million buys.Comment

Then again, our past experience wrt Arum+Pac+Floyd has been of
great expectations unmet.Comment

Pac/Margarito was 1.15M.. I'm going to go out on a limb, and I wouldn't bet my money on this but.. This could potentially do 1.5. Although Margarito does bring the Mexican contingent, Mosley is a much bigger star with better name recognition.. W/e the case, exciting news for boxing. Although if it just ends up full Showtime promotion, that will be.. Not too much to get excited for.Comment

1.5M buys. I think it will outsell the PBF fight. Remember that HBO was only available to subscribers. CBS will touch a lot more Fans, & Maybe bring back the old ones who got lost and I'm sure will bring more new ones! CBS audience will be about 25X more!Comment
