and you calling cotto slow? get real, cotto have beaten slick guys and was and still is a top 5 welterweight/jr middleweight
margarito slow? well, he beat alot of slick fighters.
clottey? clottey had beaten slick guys as well, and was a top 5 welterweight

all of these guy are slow you say, but these slow boxers have beaten slick fighters...get real bro
Margarito and Clottey both battered Cotto. Everybody was saying that Cotto looked shop-worn and faded after Clottey. Miguel was not on top of his game, he had no trainer to speak of, and he most certainly was not in his prime..... plus, Manny tried to drain him on the scales.

That fight is the "new" and "improved" Pacquiao's, best win.

Josh " the punching bag " Clottey ?

You can forget that one buddy

For some reason Josh just didn't seem to want to hurt Manny in that fight, and his excuses were just bizarre

Margarito was a slow, plodding, faded, shop-worn, mediocre, BUM, with no KO power, who could not have beaten any of the top welter's..... and who had just been KTFO by ol' man Mosley and then banned from boxing for 12 months for glove-loading.

Mosley will only be the 2nd welterweight that Manny has fought at 147.

Any talk of Martinez fighting a heavyweight is absurd.

Joshua Clottey never turned in ONE bad performance before Pacquiao! He beat the **** out of Corrales, he stood toe to toe with Margarito and if not for a broken hand, would have probably beat him and went to war with Cotto, that most people believe he won! So, one bad fight against arguably the best fighter in the world (or 2nd best depending on your opinion) makes him a 'punching bag!' Get real dude!...

When was the last time Pac fought at 135? Pac doesn't need JMM or Sergio. JMM needs Pac for big payday. If he really wants Pac and fat payday then he knows what to do.

Tell us about Clottey's great performances.

          Who has Clottey beaten?

          Thanks.

Well, that is simply not true at all, I don't know what fights you watched.

            He is a classic under-achiever.

            Clottey?

            Really?

These are the excuses that Clottey gave for his inexcusable performance.....

            1.) " I don't know how to explain..... "
2.) " I really don't understand what happened to me in that fight..... "
3.) " I just think it was one of those things..... "
            4.) " I don't know what happened..... "
5.) " I knew I could hurt him when I threw my power shots..... "
            6.) " I didn't feel like his punches really hurt me..... "
            7.) " I felt OK after..... "
8.) " there are so many reasons the fight happened the way it did..... "

BTW, don't think for one second that I pulled one sentence to bits to extract all of those ridiculous excuses. Clottey gave each and every one of those excuses when answering a completely different question during an interview

And guess what, during that interview, Clottey never even mentioned the "diahorrea" excuse that he gave immediately after the fight.

Clottey put on one-hell-of-an inept performance, for somebody who appeared to be able to hit, and hurt, his opponent at will. And the backing off in round 6 was it?, when Clottey had Manny on the ropes covering after out-punching him..... was more than bizarre.

That just went against every instinct that a " fighter " has.

I have only ever seen that happen in the gym.

            The Clottey fight?

            Really?

I don`t think Pac is gonna fight again at 154lbs, not because of Martinez, but the weight is too much for him.

Manny never intended to fight a genuine JMW. He only intended to fool you into thinking that he was a Junior Middleweight Champion

BEFORE the Margarito fight Arum stated that " none of the future fights for the Filipino champion will go beyond 147 lb ".....

Martinez is a far more difficult fight than either Mayorga or Mosley, thats definintely true.

Side note: Martinez should rematch Margarito one of these days. in a quick, on the side, non title fight kind of deal.

and I really like Pacquiao, but he shouldnt have gone up to win a 'belt' at 154 if he isnt willing to fight there.

Three very good points, I agree 100%.

But he still shouldn't have to fight Martinez.
