i'd never call someone that chooses to fight for a living a coward but that being said

im also tired of these guys that don't want to fight

give me guys like Vic Darchiniyan anyday who will fight anybody

Berto is the epitome of everyone that is wrong with boxing

overpaid, isn't even exciting to watch, won his belt by beating a nobody, couldn't sell out a phone booth, overpaid.........etc

and Ortiz i'm not sure what's wrong with him but the way he dances about around the ring is not something i would pay money to watch

i have no urge to see either of them fight anytime soon and if they fought they would probably stink the joint out anyway

This is seriously a bitch move from Ortiz's camp. I know people are gonna come at me and say "Ortiz is a Jr WW" but on the real he's freaking huge and there is hardly any size disparity here, he's simply looking to gain an advantage. Either he wants to make a statement at 147 or he doesn't...up to him. Really doesn't make sense, especially for a guy who's more likely killing himself to make 140. As a matter of fact they might actually be the same size!

Berto need to fight at 147 against a 147 fighter, Am disappointed in your post for attacking Ortiz here, Ortiz campaigns at 140 so if the WBC welterweight champion wants to take advantage of a contender at 140 then i think its GREAT that ortiz wants him to come down to 143.

Maybe that way Berto would stop looking at 140 fighters and face and defend his belt against welterweights.

100% agree, he has the right tools but because he doesn't have that mental strength, I'd confidently pick Berto to win, maybe by stoppage as Ortiz is known to run.

With that said I'd rather him fight cintron. But my guess is HBO wants him for Paul williams.
