He won by 4 points on one judges score card and 2 points on another. The other judge had Oscar winning by 2 points. So he didn't win by 1 point.

And those scorecards are ridiculous the fight was no where near that close.

a fight w/ floyd would be great if he left arum, i think cotto would still get good fights if he moved to GBP,scumbag arum needs to disappear.....

and every one thought shane would have to chase floyd around the ring. but floyd stayed right in the pocket and walked shane down. and people forget this was a fight shane RAN from for years, years!!!!! floyd wanted this fight a long time ago. but shane and oscar said "there is no upside to fighting floyd" floyd pushed arum for a oscar fight for years but arum didnt want to risk his cash cow vs floyd. just like now he is milking manny for all he is worth. on top of that manny is grossly under paid by arum. thats what pac fans should be up in arms about. arum is crushing pac. arum makes far more money of a pac fight than pac.thats why all arums top fighters have left him and got rich they discovered that arum was juicing them.

I find this funny that whenever someone speaks on the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight they always revert back to the token....."Oscar would have won if he kep throwing the jab AFTER the 6th round"..........well boys & girls I am here to end all of that madness and lame message board rhetoric

Surprisingly, Floyd had the edge in jabs landed 69-40, throwing 240 to Oscar’s 246.

Oscar landed just 4 of 77 jabs in rounds 10-12, after landing 31 out of 124 jabs in rounds 6-9.....lol

Lets to the math....124+77= 201.....so after the 6th round...Oscar threw 201 Jabs.....he threw 45 jabs in the first 5 rounds......

So TRUTH BE TOLD Oscar actually threw MORE Jabs after the 6th round than he did before the 6th round....lol...

          Thats all folks!

More aggressive? Well he did throw more punches and jabs in the 2nd half of the fight buut he couldnt land any punches....

look at the punch stats man...Oscar didnt land many clean punches at all and was hitting all arms and gloves...

this fight was NOT a split decision...shoulda been 8-4

Have you ever been a fighter? not being able to land a puch is often the sign of fatigue, not your punch output. a tired fighter can still throw punches, chances are they just wont land. and thats what it was with oscar. 8-4 in your opinion maybe, i wont argue but i saw it closer and so did the judges that night. by no means do i think he won, i dont think either of them did honestly. cuz neither one looked like they had been in a fight when it was over

The fact that people think any version of Cotto can be competitive with Mayweather shows how blown out of proportion Cotto's ability as a fighter are. Call me a ***** and all that and I don't even care that much for Floyd. But if Cotto can barely beat Clottey, what is a guy like Floyd who punches harder and does everything better than Clottey gonna do to him?

If Floyd comes back and fights Cotto based on these weak ass wins he's got over guys like Mayorga and even Margarito (Yeah, I said it) he's gonna get dirt kicked on him by me for adding a bitch move to his long hobby of bitch moves.

But with that said, Mayweather could come back and win this fight and the Cotto fan girls will say that he waited until Cotto was past it even if Floyd came back from a long layoff to do the deed instead of chalking it up to Floyd simply being the better fighter.
