If you think that Tito will have a easy time with Winky then your wrong. Winky's defense is extremely tight and he is a very sound boxer. I think that he can do some of the same things to Tito that X and Oscar did. He has a better D then both of them and a great jab. Not to mention that he is also a southpaw.

when was the last time winky beat someone on his toes? hes old and just tries to bully opponents with his jab. hes a VERY hittable target. his whole body is constantly exposed. NONE of his last opponents had any power to capitalize. i think trinidad would stop him around the 8th round, maybe sooner.

You just dont understand boxing. Saying Wright is very hittable is like saying that Floyd and Toney are very hittable. Floyd and Toney let guys hit them and they roll the punches or block them with their hands, arms, and shoulders. This tires fighters out then you can dominate them when they stop punching. Wright also lets people hit him. He always keeps his guard up. You cant penetrate his D. He keeps his arms straight up so that's all you hit. All Mosley was hitting was his forearms. You could see that he was frustrated because he couldnt get through. Wright leaves his body exposed for shots just like Sturm, but when you have used this technique for a long time then your body is trained to handel the body punch. Oscar watched tape on Sturm and thought he could eat this guy's body up, but it never hurt Sturm because he has trained his body to handle them. That's exactly what Manny Steward was saying after the fight. What Oscar was doing early on looked good but it never hurt him because he is equipped to take that, and what happened. Oscar started to wear down. Tito never goes to the body anyway. He will hit Winkys arms all night long

both sides in this thread are making excellent points. i'm going to philosifize and say its possible that gentleman winky turned the 3 mil down for the publicity and maybe for future gratuaties like having trinidad comedown and fight him at 154 or maybe a future rematch or something. winky has to be thinking there's a good chance he's going to loose. then where will he be at. beltless and back making chicken feed against second tier boxers because top names will duck him as before.( thats if he fights tito at 154).man if the wink goes up in weight against tito as i see it he has less of a chance.

Winky often reminds me of Michael Spinks--an awkward fighter who got the job done; but not much fun to watch. Spinks' awkwardness gave Larry Holmes fits and derailed Holmes bid to better Marciano's win record! Moreover, before meeting Holmes, Spinks was well near untouchable in his own LHeavyweight division!

Wright saying no to $3M, however, leads me to speculate that he must have borrowed a page from Bernard Hopkins' book, written in the late 90's and well into the early 2000's, on how not to make too much money...

He can't look forward to a similar offer fighting somebody else, could he? He's getting on in years, he should take care of his retirment stash!

                    I can't believe Winky

We can't blame Winky . . . maybe he feels he is worth more than 3M . . . he is a p4p fighter after all. Yes Trinidad is better recognized than him but . . . he might be thinking that the price is not worth the risk. INDEED Trinidad is a very big RISK . . . don't you people agree?
