But you can still see how it has wound pac up so much, even freddy was saying hes never seen pac mock someone in the ring before, and talk about beating them etc
It's different for me because Pacquiao would probably be bothered in a bad way, while Ali's talk affected Frazier in a good way. Frazier fought his best fights because he was motivated by Ali.

Frazier’s just bitter, and life has really kicked Ali in the balls since then. Dude should just move on with his life, and God knows what happened to all the money Joe earned.

But it doesn't make it right, even if it motivated him for the better....The guy is stuck thinking about that day until now, hes stopped speaking to people over it, its effected him way more mentally than anything it did to Ali....

Ali created bad blood between himself and Frazier, Mayweather is doing the same with Pac....By bringing someone out to people, saying things about them....these days people cant get away with racism (Bhops on the boundries lol), you cant get away with the things Ali said back then....

But what mayweather is saying now, is kind of the worst thing you could bring out about a boxer at the top of their game....Im not saying he shouldn't be saying them really...Its up to him, but again, its damaging someones image, the only person who damaged mayweathers image is himself

That documentary is a biased piece of ****.

It failed to show Frazier constantly calling Ali by his denounced name "Cassius Clay", something Ali had asked people not to do. Ali was out of order with some remarks but overall I don't like how the show demonised him and again failed to mention all the charity work and causes Ali has backed throughout his life dating back to when he was heavyweight champ.

And Frazier, he hates Ali when he's paid to hate Ali, like on that documentary. Here's Frazier after Thrilla in Manilla, a few years on, Ali's best buddy.

So what happened after that to make Frazier hate Ali so much? HBO came and paid some money into Frazier's bank, that's what.

Don't take too much notice of that documentary, very biased against Ali.

He wasn't original either all of his quotes were thought of by his slave masters who gave him his slave name 'Muhummad Ali' if they made up after the thrilla in manila cool. But it doesn't change the fact he always took liberty to insult black fighters in particular. Like Floyd Patterson or Joe louis or others which made him look like hypocrite in my view because nobody benefited from the 'white devil' more than he did.

This article is from October, 2006. I don't follow "Smokin'" Joe, so I don't know how things might be currently. Still, the story's interesting, relevant...and sad.

Nice read, pretty much what I was saying from the documentary

also Alan i take what you said into account, I know how biased some things can be, It still didn't look like they were best friends in that clip tho....Frazier was almost forcing a smile It seemed....

Maybe it wasn't just HBO paying someone lol

Saying that, Ali must have apologised to him by now..or I doubt that would have happened

I actually felt so bad for Frazier, I dont know if its just a biased view, but everything showed in the documentary, I had seen before, like Ali calling him a gorilla, the abuse he got, being called an Uncle Tom etc

Ali literally turned people against this guy, and I do like Ali, and respect him and do see him as the best heavyweight of all time....But I think he was definitely intimidated by Fraziers presence. Thats why he said so much to try get under his skin. It actually made me think, damn if I was a boxing fan at the time, I probably would have been cheering for Frazier.

Seeing parts when Fraziers son said they had to have protection, the family recieved death threats etc....Its just so wrong, and to think, that situation was not getting help from Ali continuously bad mouthing Frazier.

I know trash talk happens in boxing (and Ali was the king of it) but damn, he took it so far....too far. I dont even think he realised how bad he was acting himself.

I actually wonder if Ali would have stood up if the fight had gone on, he looked so drained, even collapsing to the floor at the end, even his trainer said he was asking for his gloves to be cut off.... Saying that, I couldnt imagine him not getting back up, he had 2 much pride.

Anyway, I just thought how strange it is, all the bad mouthing that Ali did to frazier, and then seeing how it can change so many peoples views on a person....

Does anyone think its a bit similar, how as soon as the Mayweather family bad mouthed Pacquiao, Pacquiaos got constant **** from people, where as before all he had virtually were fans?

(This threads mainly about the Ali and Frazier part so dont go to off topic =P just thought it was a good contrast)

yeah saw that while ago, great doc.

i really got peeved how ali came back because fraizer helped him back, and even gave him money to support himself, and then ali goes way over the top and puts joes family in danger and puts that kind of problems for fraizer, and to totally disrespect him in every way,and then not give credit to him for the win.

i think ali never truely apologised man to man to fraizer, never recognised how much damage was done.very disappointing from ali.

and i think fraizer holds resentment and some sick happiness for alis health nowadays.

friazer has good health but isnt well off.

ali has bad health but good money.

i think at moment both might be old enough to forget about it.

but thats some real shameful stuff from ali.
