What about Rick Reeno, the owner of Boxingscene? Who's a big Pacquiao fan and even has a picture of Pacquiao in his profile picture? When interviewed by Seckbach in a video showed here, he said favored Floyd to win. Reeno is not part of Golden Boy.

A lot of other retired and active fighters who are not related to GBP or Top Rank, favor Floyd over Pacquiao as well.

      Not surprising.

I hope this fight gets made, I remember when the bookies where giving odd's on this fight, Mayweather was only a slight favorite I'm gonna throw at least 3k on Floyd early while the odd's are good.

Come fight night I expect Mayweather to be a heavy favorite if the fight ever happened, Simply because real fight fans know Manny is one dimensional and Mayweather is a boxing genius who is going to expose that little prick.

Either way, All three picked Mayweather
It seems more like wishful than objective thinking. I kinda think Floyd would win as well but, I am not nursing a bruised ego. There are simply too many perspectives and variables for anyone to give an accurate appraisal of how these two fighters would perform against one another.

It's a damn shame they will not meet in the ring.

What about the Vegas oddsmakers who had put Floyd as the favourite?

I guess they are secret Golden Boy employees.

I used to think mayweather would win but after seeing him against judah I really don't think his style matches well against southpaws at all. Judah was schoolin him in the first couple of rounds but then his lack of stamina came into play like always and mayweather began to take over. Judah is no where near pacquiao's level and with pacquiao's work rate he comes out to the 12th like its round 1 so its not like he will run out of stamina like judah, so judging the fight soley on the mayweather judah fight because it is the only one I know of where floyd faces a southpaw I just cant see mayweather winning.

I think if they fight, it could go either way. But the point of the thread is why those 3 common fighters picked Floyd.

If you were in De la Hoya shoes, why would you pick Floyd? De la Hoya lost by a split decision. One judge actually picked him to win the fight. Why would he say Floyd will win when he quit when he fought Manny?

If you were Hatton, why whould you say Floyd is better when you lasted 10 rounds with him? Why would make him say that when he only lasted 2 with Manny?

Regarding Marquez, Floyd shut him out and Manny Decisioned him twice, so obviously he's gonna say Floyd.

But, the other two's statement picking Floyd doesnt make sense. Im not saying I know what they're thinking, or if they have motives for picking Floyd, but from logical
point of view I dont get it.

you need to be objective. The judah who fought Floyd 6 years ago is better skilled than Manny Pacquaio, albeit less stamina. The only thing that has improved with Manny is his stamina which allows him to throw more punches with power through out the later rounds and still main his balance. His defence is still lacking, he still gets reckless, he still doesn't have a defining jab, and he still throw a wild right hand.

Mayweather has slipped a few as well, which makes this fight rather interesting. Mayweather's feet aren't as quick as before, thus reducing his lateral movements, doesn't throw combos as before, and sometimes get sloppy with the left hook, but if i have to choose i'd say Mayweather, because he has shown versatility in adapting to different styles. Pacquaio, on the other hand, has been fighting the same fighters for latter part of his career-fighters with limited movements.

I agree but I still think Pacquiao's southpaw style will put mayweather in big trouble the sort the judah put him in but I dont think even then that judah was even close to pacquiao's level.

so oscar and ricky pick floyd because they got embarassed by manny yet at the same time you say marquez picked floyd because he was in 2 close fights with manny?
if you ask oscar and ricky who fought the better of the 2 and they would both say floyd thats probably why those two fighters feel floyd can beat manny even though they were both embarassed by manny and as far as hatton goes he always says that he is a fan of manny even in the statement where he said he thinks floyd would win he said that he loves to watch manny fight and that he wouldn't even get up to watch a mayweather fight and hatton also said that floyd is to crafty and sneaky and knows a lot of little tricks and ricky also said that he thinks floyds defense will give manny alot of problems

No, you need to be objective.

****outtahere with any version of Judah being more skilled than Pac.

Pacquiao is a predictable one dimensional Hype job,
Least Judah had a defensive and could mix it up.
