I hope Jose jr finds himself a world class trainer because that really is the ticket. You can't blame him for being loyal to his father, but father son combo's normaly don't do well in boxing. Hopefully he will make the right decisions in the future.

I hate seeing meddling fathers possibly ruin a good thing for their sons. Jose would have benefited so much from being with Freddie Roach.

benavidez sr said they left wildcard at the margo/pac fight. pretty crazy to hear roach say his father kinda got in the way, in every little interview with chavez jr or benavidez jr, his dad seemed like a cool dude.
another rising fighter, shawn porter, has his father, kenny porter, as his trainer. both trained at the wildcard gym together. to me, both are great fighters (from the fights theyve had so far), but their fathers both seem like good dudes and decent trainers, at least they look like they know what they are doing. here's a video of them together, talking about each other's kids. seems pretty cool, maybe in the future, if both are big names, itll be something cool for them or their fans to look back on. skip to 0:40

After this fight. Jose Benavidez Jr. should fight Abner Cotto next.
