It has to be noted that Mosley had back to back camps for this fight and that can't be overlooked.

Once you establish that, here's what happened:

Mosley hurt Mayweather badly and almost khtfo, but because Mosley's always been a low iq fighter, he let Mayweather survive by smothering his punches and not throwing to the body.

If that was someone like JMM, Mayweather would've been k.o'd because JMM always gives himself distance to punch and goes to the body when he has someone hurt.

Mosley just headhunted, smothered himself and let Mayweather hold him for the rest of the round.

After that, Mosley was totally gassed and was ineffectual the rest of the fight.

Mosley blew his wad and the one chance he had at winning the fight.

A few things happened in that fight/round.

1) Naazim made it clear he felt Floyd was/is vulnerable to the overhand right, and he was correct. So their strategy was to bait Floyd with flimsy jabs to the body, followed immediately with the right once Floyd reacted to the first shot. Floyd made the necessary adjustments and Shane, not being a cerebral fighter, didn't know what to do.

2) I don't think they expected Floyd to stay in the pocket and force the action, they probably were expecting him to fight on his back foot all night and Shane would have more space to operate.

3) Shane was 38 years old and inactive for a long time, he was visibly gassed by the 4th, as he was again a few months later against a C-class fighter in Mora. He had nothing to offer besides an occassional pitty pat flurry every few rounds.

IF, is a word often used but meaningless. JMM had his chance and did worse than Mosley. There is no guy that is able to solve the PBF equation. The closest is PAC because of the southpaw stance, handspeed, and Roach to gameplan. The negatives are that Manny is not a cerebral fighter either if he doesn't get off he will end up like Mosley or worse. Since he doesn't have Shane's size, reach advantage over Mayweather, or one hit KO power. I'm praying like hell the the fight actually happens.

Well, the fact that you take the JMM/Floyd fight seriously makes me question your faculties.

I'm talking about JMM vs. opponents his own size. If JMM was a natural WW I guarantee you that fight would've played out differently.

Shane didn't have to be JMM, because he'll never be that good, but even if he just took a step back once in a while and worked the body he would've k.o'd Floyd.

Floyd is very beatable, he just never fights anyone who poses a real threat because he's a scared pussy.

One Mosley exerted a lot of energy to knock out May and while May was holding he was punching directly into Mosley gut which tired him even more

Two after that round May stopped taking him for granted and decided to step it up
