Comments Thread For: Peter Manfredo Jr. Puts on a Dominating Show in Key West

Still best remembered for his runner-up finish in the first season of the now defunct “Contender” reality series, 30-year old Middleweight Peter Manfredo Jr. (37-6, 20 KO) of Providence, Rhode Island, kept himself on the fringes of real contention on Friday night at Mallory Square in Key West, Florida. Manfredo dropped 30-year old Haitian Daniel Edouard (23-4-2, 14 KO) of West Palm Beach, Florida, hard in the fourth en route to a unanimous decision victory.

The k.o. in the Manfredo Jr vs Edouard fight is a nomination for k.o of the year. Edouard made a habit of putting his arms down leaving him open after that k.o. Aaron Pryor Jr needed to more fighting on the outside.

This was the second time I've seen Jr. Fight, and considering his preigree, I'm unimpressed. He just does not plant his feet for a Power shot, and he fights more and more on his back foot the longer his fights go.

He just really, really needs to work on measuring the distance with his jab, instead of sloppily holding it out in front of him while he backpedals.

Junior, in short just looked frustrated. I hope he puts it together and finds the great fighter in himself I'm sure he has.

Peopl talk bad about Chavez Jr. but he´s done better than all the Jrs, Camacho, Hearns, Pryor, etc. Pryor Jr. was holding Rodriguez most of the fight, he is a coward, Rodriguez deserved the win. Showed Latino heart.
