dont act like Cotto was begging for that fight either
he wasnt begging for it in public but it doesnt mean he didnt want it. im sure he knew floyd was top dawg, he was 2nd at 147. i think he made noise bout fighting him behind closed doors. not in public, not his style.

Money was the problem since this would have been co-promoted and Floyd would have got the lions share so if you think about the end result Arum would most likely make more money on Margarito fight then a Floyd super fight.

idk if i would agree with this at that time.

This fight was supposed to happen at one point, it was never made official but most thought that the winner of cotto vs mosely would of faced the winner of mayweather vs hatton. I think like most he would of beaten cotto, that victory would of seriously given floyd a lot of credibility and a lot more negotiating power against manny. This fight now only benefits cotto in imo, the chance for floyd to beat a super hot up and comng undefeated fighter is over. A victory over cotto now would only be labeled a manny leftover. I have never seen a guy that has f ucked up his own legacy like floyd.

I woulda favored Floyd to beat any version of Cotto but I always wanted to see it happen...prefferably when both were at 140 or when both were just gettin started at 147...

I honestly believe Cotto had the style to beat Mayweather. There was a reason why Floyd avoided him in his prime.

i wasnt sure if he was ready 2 compete with floyd when he was at 140. after cotto beat mosley, i felt like he had a shot at beating him. he would have been the underdog but it would have been a good fight man.
