  • Comments Thread For: Amir Khan: Paul McCloskey Likely, Peterson is Out!

Following up to an earlier report on BoxingScene.com, WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan told BBC Five Live that he will likely defend his title against unbeaten EBU light welterweight title holder Paul McCloskey (22-0, 12KOs) on April 16 at the MEN Arena in Manchester. According to Khan, a deal to face Lamont Peterson fell through over money. Khan hopes a deal can be made in the "next few days."

Although Peterson > McCloskey, this is a good fight. McCloskey is ranked in the top 10 as well and is a southpaw. Interesting fight to watch.

              Money, money, money.

I am damn sure Peterson was offered more than the Ortiz fight. Why the hell has the dude priced himself out? This would have been a good fight for him and a title shot after coming off a loss and draw. SMH

              Damn shame!

As for McCloskey, its a good fight. Will be huge in the UK for sure. Definately will sell more than Khan-Peterson. Damn.... shame!

Who ranks him in the top 10? I've never heard of him, I'm sure he hasn't beat anyone of note. If he is in the top 10 it is simply because he hasn't lost. This is not a good fight.

Of course peterson is out........he can fight, and he's semi quick on his feet so khan can't out run him. Khan is a joke
