money dispute is always a reason good fights don't get made......if petersen stood firm on a high dollar amount, shame on him.....its not like he won his last fight, he's lucky to hve been given a draw with ortiz......lamont hd a golden opportunity to fight for the champship of the world, if he were to win i'm sure there would have been a rematch clause and lamont would then have the right to a bigger payday against who ever he would have fought next.....oh well...now we get to see khan against some unknown opponent, who's probably gonna get paid a fraction of what lamont would have gotten......

A lot of people here clearly have never seen McCloskey fight if they think he is gonna get KO'd easy. This is actually a tough fight and it will be hard to look good against someone as skilled as McCloskey.Comment

Am I missing something here? After watching the highlight reel, I think this kid is pretty damn good. He has some good reflexes and has pop. He also has the deadly weapon that maidana started using to late in the fight... The Uppercut. I think this kid gets a win and I'll go further, he'll knock Khan out. Any bets WazaaComment

yes finally someone sees clearly. McCloskey is seriously gifted and perhaps some of his great performances on RTE were not widely available to everyone. he may not be the biggest puncher but hits hard enough and puts them together well. if given the opportunity to finish Khan he will do just that. the guy has some great natural abilitiies that cannot be taught. hopefully if he gets this win he should go farComment

i really don't have a problem with this fight, but there is a pattern going on here with toprank--with manny and amir, they're two superstars---people pricing themselves out and people on here defending their choices---but the same people criticize floyd mayweather jr saying he's all about money, and he's just scared to fight the best, when in fact he has just faced the number 2 and 3 p4p fighters consecutively and dominated them both--he beat the best ww's at the time when he fought them and the former ww champion in zab judah--beat a former ww champion in ricky hatton---at 147, where he defended his title---i mean, ricky just wasn't good enough to beat floyd--he didn't want too fight floyd at 140, so why should floyd come down and weight and fight ricky, when ricky was naturally bigger than floyd to begin with?
yet, floyd gets criticized for fighting de la hoya when floyd took a lot less of the money--gave up the gloves--ring size--weight--and everything and still whooped oscar's ass and took his title--
yet, when manny and amir doesn't fight guys because of money issues, it's okay?
