I think Peterson deserves the fight. Amir is fighting for the wrong reasons. Boxing is a business, but what about legacy? Peterson is a good solid fighter that gave Timothy Bradley fits, and in my opinion, outboxed Ortiz. Having his name on your resume would be excellent. But these guys now are only in it for the money. Its a shame. This is killing the sport.

Peterson wouldn't stand a chance with Khan.

          This is a nothing fight.

I have never even heard of thsi potential oponent. My feeling is that Khan should stick to top 4 oponents in his division, or name fighters.

A fight against an EBU Champion is a con to the British boxing fans.

And I suppose Sky will want £15 for the PPV...

This is very poor preparation for the Bradley-Alexander winner and could come back to haunt him.

Lamont Peterson got $100,000 for the Ortiz fight. He can't just demand a a big payday off Khan when, let's be fair, he's coming off the back of a loss.

Right now he's just a decent name for Khan to have on his 140lbs resume. There's loads of fighters better than him in the division anyway i.e. Khan, Bradley, Maidana, Alexander, Kotelnik, Judah, Ortiz and Urango.

McCloskey is a good opponent for Khan considering that it's a warm-up fight. He was also just in a war so having a standard defense is fine by me. McCloskey is a top-10 ranked fighter anyway so it's not like he's fighting a bum like Salita.

If Bradley was in Khan's position and the two other big stars in the division were fighting each other (Khan and Alexander) and he had to wait until the summer to fight the winner, people wouldn't say **** about Bradley if he was going to fight McCloskey. They'd say that he's a decent top-10 fighter, a good tune-up. Khan gets too much hate and stick on these forums.

                SWEET!!!!!!

Another northern irish fighter getting a world title shot this year!

Ive been sort of looking to see this fight for a while, but i didnt think it would happen unless Khan lost, or Paul got a big name win. Must dig out the thread were some of the english posters were giving Paul **** for calling him out after his last fight and calling him rubbish lol!

Anyway, I like Paul, he's got very good skills, but he's gonna get his head beat in against Khan. The only thing going for him is he's a south paw. He's stopped all his recent opponents, but he doesnt have much pop. I mighta given him a small chance of KOing Khan before i saw him take Maidana's shots. Paul keeps his hands down and invites his opponent to throw shots so he can counter. Big problem against Khan, against Euro and British level guys he still gets caught occasionally. He's never seen anyone anywhere near the speed of Khan before. He's gonna get tagged. A lot.

Hope it isnt ppv, or if it is, that for some reason Khan decides he wants to fight in Belfast again (yeah right). Might head over to this fight if its in england and ppv

                War McCloskey!!!!!!!!

Watch the fight he only ran for the last two rounds after Roach told him to stop boxing and get on his bike.

Great fight for the British public and a nice tune up to get Khan ready for a summer Bradley/Marquez showdown.

People are also forgetting Khan took a lot of punishment in his last fight. He needs a tune-up kinda fight to recharge his batteries and work on his defence in preparation for a Bradley/Marquez fight.

Peterson priced himself out. Prescott would have been nice but he isn't even at world level right now. And Khan beat Maidana clearly in his last fight, so a rematch isn't necessary. McCloskey is a big British fight, and will make a lot of money and draw a large crowd. Which in light of Bradley-Alexanders poor ticket sales, is something boxing needs.
