Certainly, bananas and tobacco are not the only things Filipinos get going for them. They have heavy industries like mining, energy, manufacturing, ie, electronic parts, food industry, etc. I just heard they again struck oil somewhere in Palawan.

Speaking of crime, which the Dominican dude, posing as Pinoy, mentioned. I just found this on the net about crime in his beloved Dominican Republic.

I have known only 1 Pinoy family woh put their mother in a nursing home. They don't want to but no one can take care of their mother.

some of you guys are so dumb. this is obviously an article that is promoting confucian behavior among pinoys. it is not meant for non-asian consumption.

This is how the argument goes:

- nonito is shown as a bad son, and an example of how not to treat your parents.

- pac is shown as a good son, and an example of how to treat your parents.

hence, pac is the hero of asia because of his confucian values and nonito is his backward cousin because of his un-confucian behavior. most of us from the States wouldn't understand that because we come from broken homes or we hate our parents especially our in-laws.
