  • Once and for all, what the heck is the true definition of being SLICK?

i have been scouring the forum for the exact meaning of being called "slick" in terms of boxing but to no avail. some says slick is not flashiness, more visible in defensive type boxers or whatnot, but in all honesty, what the heck does being "slick" mean? its kind of vague for me. does it have to do something with athleticism or some other intangibles? who are slick and who arent? pls enlighten me!

elusive movement--great balance--great timing--smooth fighting--it's not that hard to figure out-lol-overall, nothing is awkward and looks sloppy all the time--being able to throw punches sharp, not just physically hard and fast--

hmm, from this definition with so many features, its like your describing a perfect boxer for me . does it means being slick is not being able to commit mistakes in the ring?

not at all--no fighter is perfect--we're all human--i'm talking overall--there are ways to beat slick fighters as it has been done before--it's just that manny doesn't want to find out-

i see, the definition is starting to take shape in my mind. more of an overall package, the fact that they are still beatable makes more sense to me. but the fact that being slick may still be greatly dependent on the opposition still hold weight, i think. you can look slick based on your opponents abilities.
