    i love joe louis.

my dad use to have 3-4 tapes of his career when i was a kid. (hbo and other companies use to make boxing career vhs tapes back then)

that said , i don't see louis being able to beat the klitschkos.

    just too much size difference.

plus his style/attributes was not the best for a smaller man going up against a bigger/stronger man.

No argument here. Kobe Bean Bryant is La Verdad.

He's only second to MJ all time imo.

The Klits size and athtletic ability would be too much for him.
            can people stop saying lewis?

            it's louis.

you're on a fucking boxing forum.

the least you people can do is know the last name of one the greatest and most famous heavyweight champions of all time.

it'd be like being in a baseball forum and not knowing who babe ruth was.

louis had good athleticism btw. he had good handspeed , strength , etc.

he just had slow footwork. not uncommon for a puncher.

If a guy with 20 losses can beat Wlad I dont see Joe Louis having any problems. Joe Louis was one of the top 5 punchers that ever walked the planet and KO'd every 240+ fighter he ever faced.

              Abe SImon 6'4, 255 lbs TKO 6

              Buddy Baer 6'7, 250 lbs KO 1

              Primo Carnera 6'6, 260 lbs TKO 6

^^^I know thats not Joe Louis...but this pic shows how Strong cut primo really was

size is irrelevant in this matchup.

if anything, Louis overall did better against large opponents.

the thing that would give Louis trouble is Wladimirs jab and power more so than his size.

those guys might be the same size as the klitschkos but they are not on the klitschkos level.

most of them are no more than that era's nikolay valuev.

lol, those guys are bums. Primo Carnera would probably lose to Ray Austin.
