Comments Thread For: Mayorga's Trainer: If Ricardo Trains Hard, He'll Beat Cotto

Panamanian Rigoberto Garibaldi, trainer of former world champion Ricardo Mayorga, believes his fighter can beat WBA 154-pound champ Miguel Cotto with the proper training in the gym. The fight is scheduled for March 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. If Mayorga trains hard, Garibaldi predicts a knockout victory.

    “If” he trains hard?

Doesn’t seem like his trainer has concrete faith in his abilities….

No he won't, sucks that this is a PPV because its little more than a tuneup for Miguel.

If it were someone else than Mayorga, I'd give a shot to a fighter who is very hungry to return to a former "championship" form.. one that's naturally bigger than Cotto and has an awkward style.

However, we're talking about Mayorga here. So forget all of that stuff that I just wrote.

Mayorga is weak to the body, Steward/Cotto will gameplan a vicious body attack from the opening bell. This fight will be better than people think bc both men are vulerable w/Cotto's damaged chin,it all boils down to which Mayorga shows up bc the guy still hits like a mule.

I want to see training vids of Mayorga doing ropes with a cigar in his mouth

I'm so excited for this fight...I hope the PPV is like 20 bucks or something...it is a Top Rank independant PPV, so who knows how it will go...I would also prefer like an online PPV, I'd probably get that
