Concepcion fought as a featherweight in that fight while Nonito busted his left hand

      I think otherwise mate.

I believe Robert Garcia's the best fit for Donaire right now. We need not compare how Rios and Margarito fought, but if we do, they're not as slick as Nonito.

Garcia IMO compliments Donaire's default skill, they'll be alright.

But hey, what do we know?

This match looks 50-50 on paper, but I see it otherwise. Donaire's huge height and reach advantage will play a big factor here. Nonito will frustrate Montiel early while bagging round after round that at some point in the later rounds, Montiel will get reckless and careless knowing he's trailing on all scorecards, and that will be his downfall. A late KO or a wide UD for Nonito.

I'm putting up 1M for those who's going for Montiel, I'm just a pm away...

It looks like a couple of GQ models, rather than pugilists. I have Montiel winning the pictorial contest.

But seriously, I have watched both these fighters, and am impressed with Montiel's power, heart, and ability to take a punch. I have also been following Donaire since he KO'd Darchinian, and he has impressive abilities, speed, and technique.

I think the people who compare Montiel's KO against Concepcion with Donaire's decision win are forgetting some key points. Concepcion fought Donaire while over the weight limit by almost 5 pounds - that's a huge difference in these lighter divisions.

Donaire could have accepted a DQ win, but still decided to fight. And in that fight, Donaire was hitting Concepcion with huge shots which were landing flush. If they were more even in weight, Concepcion would have also suffered a KO.

I think that Donaire's slick style and abilities will eventually overcome Montiel's power and chin, and predict a late round stoppage win for Donaire.

It's crazy how this fight is underrated and still does not even get the slighest percentage of attention it deserves, HUGE fight! In a way this also goes for Bradley-Alexander, it's just sad how small boxing has become to the general public.
The winner of this surely is a lock for P4P lists...

Love Montiel but Donaire has too much, is too well-rounded. Only issue here is if he can deal with Montiel's power and I think he can deal with it long enough to dish out his own punishing blows with more frequency. And he should be able to box from the outside as well. I expect him to win a hard-fought decision or even pull out the stoppage.

I think Montiel will get dominated, remember what a pretty faded too sharp did to him, I think Montiel has a fair punchers chance, then again I could be wrong.

Concepcion purposely didn't make weight to beat Donaire. You can see the size difference on the night of the fight. Nonito had the option not to fight him but he still did and whooped his ass. Truly a warrior...
