Holyfield planning to fight in October, this must be stopped!

It appears that Evander Holyfield will fight on the undercard of a show being put on by Italian promoters in October. Holyfield cannot get a license to fight in the US because of his deteriorated boxing skills, which will eventually lead to him being seriously hurt or possibly worse.

This bout must somehow be stopped!

We, as boxing fans and enthusiasts must find a way to stop this. There must be something that can be done to ensure this man's safety is upheld. Would we throw a paralized man into a river? I have the greatest respect for Holyfield as a fighter. He is one of, if not the, greatest warriors of all time...but his time is done!

We need to join together to have our voices heard so this fight will not go on! The more people that speak their mind here, the more we will be heard. Please join me and show your support for boxing as a sport, not something that is used to destroy a man!

Fans could boycott the show but if not in the U.S. where is it and do those fans care about his health as much as Americans and would they be willing to do so are the questions.Smoeone has to think he can still fight enough to train him and encourage him to do this but who and why is a mystery.

I think Evander could get a license in the US, just not in NY. NY lifted their medical suspension that the whole country has to abide by, so he is free to apply in the other 49 states. He is probably going to Italy simply to avoid the hassle of applying for a license in the States.

I'm sure he's looking to be impressive in a victory there so he can come back to the States and use that as his reasoning...he can say "I beat the hell out of (insert name here) in my last fight, I'm not done."

If Evander Holyfield wants to fight nobody should have the right to stop him. I am not a believer in the whole "protect you from yourself mentality." He has been a pro boxer for near 20 years now. He knows his abilities. They let tons of other boxers fight into their f***Ing 60's. Holyfield is getting the slighted by the State Athletic Boards in my opinion.

From what I have read, Holyfield has passed his physicals so he should be able to fight whenever and wherever he wants.

What will stop him is when people stop paying to watch. As bad as he has looked lately, I'd still give him a chance against Ruiz!

Let him fight if he is foolish enough to step back in the square ring when he has lots of money and invested it wisely but still wants to get beat leave him to it. When he ends up like Greg Page people should not feel sorry as he has seen what has happend to many a great fighter especially Ali. It is a shame but u cannot stop a man doing what he wants do. If I was Audley Harrison i would look to get a fight quickly so then he can say when his career is over at least i fought 1 world champion

That would be a great fight for Harrison he would probably TKO Holyfield and get a title shot I mean everyone who beats Tyson or Holyfield still gets their name out there. Why I don't know but they do.

I'd still feel sorry for any fighter who gets damaged, whether they are in denial or not
