AMAZING!! WV2 Stepped in the ring for the first time at 23!!!

    Whats up guys...

I was doing some research on WV2 (Wilfredo Vazquez Jr.) and his story seems simply amazing.

He used to be a Croupier in San Juan and never had an interest in boxing until he was pressed for money...

He stepped in the ring for the first time at the age of 23 and turned pro without a single amateur bout!! In Just 3 years he's a WBO champion!!

Yes this is more captivating to me cuz he's from PR, but in all reality no matter where you're from, this is something out of the ordinary....

Let me know what ya'll think fellas...

Stepped in the ring for the first time at 23, and no amateur bouts, champion 3 years later, WOW!

I've heard WV2 didn't have an amateur career but did he train growing up? I'd imagine he must have spent a considerable amount of time in the gym since his dad was a boxer..

Good for him, hope he soon face real superbantam weights and stop fighting superflyweights inflated (Marvin Sonsona, Choco Hernandez and now Jorge Arce). Till that moment we could see what he really has... Love to see him asking Toshiaki Nishioka unification, and go to Japan and win there..

I respect the opinion bro, but we must still remember, that even though he is a champion with 19 fights, IMO he is still a prospect....

You can tell he is very crude in boxing skill, and has pretty good power so punchers chance plays a big role with him...

Thats what I thought, but looking at his fights you can tell he is very very crude skillwise still, i think good fundamentals are what are helping him out right now, well taught by his father...

Big props to the guy. Like him or not and you can say what you want, but that is a big accomplishment.

Anyone know how long he trained for before he had his first fight? He would have had to do some serious training.
