Even if you look at the Quintana fight, being completely honest - he looked like **** up until the last 20 seconds of the fight in my opinion. If he had really wanted to PROVE his worth then he should have been willing to accept the same terms of the original fight that they were already in training for prior to Haiti. For Berto to walk away from the second negotiation, where he was offered the same % that he had agreed to before, for me speaks in LOUD volume.

Too many fighters today think they deserve more money than they've proven to be worth yet. Berto demanding to be paid the same amt of $ that Shane was to be paid is a joke, especially considering what both had done up to that point comparitively.

I still keep hearing what Larry Merchant said after Berto knocked out Hernandez. He said 'Sorry folks, but this doesn't say anything about Berto. It only says something about the type of opponent he just beat.'
No, it decreased his. I agree that Berto is overpaid but you think Shane isn't? That's just the way it is.

Anyway, bottom line is that Berto wants a big fight--whether it's the end of him or not. How do you think Mosley got his first big shot?

I totally agree! Berto hasn't even scratched the surface of what Shane Mosley has accomplished over his career. If Mosley somehow pulls off the upset and beats Pacquiao (which I highly doubt but in boxing, anything is possible), after all this smack talk about his ex-wife and roids, I doubt Mosley will give Berto a big payday and refuse to fight him. He will let Berto fight the Carlos Quintana's of the world and let him continue to make chump change...
