For the record: WBC president is Mexican, and has always changed the rules to favor Mexican fighters, but don't strip a champion and give to a guy. If he wants Chavez to have Martinez' belt, let him fight for it.

            A lot......

SomeTimes you have to look deeper than what's on the suface. CHAVEZ Jr. is a prospect and has been brought up fighting the right level of competition for getting better. Who has he suppose to have fought at this point? EXACTLY. Don't worry because he is almost ready for the big, big fights. If you were such a fan, you'd know that he is going to be a very good fighter but you purposely are looking past that fact. He has everything you want in a fighter. Plus, he didn't have an amateur background. I think he's come along just right for that fact alone. DUDDY was a REAL GOOD indication of how good he's going to be. He can only step up from there. By years end, he'll be a legit name in boxing. Stop acting like MARTINEZ is a boxing god all of a sudden because he beat a power dummy who doesn't know how to use his physical attributes. And an alcoholic who's lost his desire to fight competitively. MARTINEZ is a good fighter, but he ain't great. CHAVEZ has the defense and work rate and natural size to make it tough in there for him. Come back again when you've humbled yourself.

jr may very well lose to martinez but props for him and not manroid for seeking out the best challenges, and best fights for the fans. jr vs martinez would be a must see, especially for all the jr haters,or martinez fans or fans of boxing. pac vs mosley is pure kaka with no entertainnment value or any value for that matter.only to arums pockets.

screw changing martinez to 'emeritus', thats a bunch of bulls***. he won the title through beating the champ, let him keep his belt and the 'regular' title. chavez jr and the WBC are a bunch of ******* for trying to get him to become a champ like his father. i would respect chavez jr more for trying to get the belt and losing against martinez, rather than make martinez vacate the 'regular' title and win it then. WBC and chavez's people are some corrupt f***s pulling crap like this. this is the last thing boxing needs, more ****** titles...

Chavez didn't look all that convincing in winning his last few fights. Prospect is the right word. Taking on Martinez is a big jump for Chavez. I think that jump is too big and too risky.

                      True........

Yeah, he's a prospect and until he proves otherwise, that's what I'll call him. He has turned into a world class fighter in my book. He is very skilled and has good technique. A fighter of his stature would be a hand full for MARTINEZ. And his chin is EXCELLENT. Just remember that he didn't have any amateur fights. So when these fans bash him without knowing his story, it angers me. I like MARTINEZ and I like CHAVEZ. I'm not going to play sides or jump on band-wagonsl ike a lot of these humans on here. I call it like I see it. But if you watch CHAVEZ fight and say at the end that he doesn't belong in a boxing ring, something is wrong there. LoL. The kid can fight.
