not really a good fight at all IMO as far as style is concerned Lamont has a Zero chance of KO and no way in hell is he getting a decision or a draw in England

matthysse would have been a better choice if they thought Ortiz was too much of a risk

Getting in the ring with Peterson will require a far better defensive game than he displayed vs Maidana. Going on Khan's performance in the ring with Peterson will provide better clues to his ability vs the likes of Bradley and alexander.

Versus prescott there would be no learning curve.
Peterson would provide the better test, but I still feel Khan should avenge his loss. The fights also is more appealing to the casual fan.

HBO and Golden-boy probably have a lot to do with getting this fight made.

HBO likes its top 10 guys to fight top 10 guys, they put peterson on the undercard of the Khan fight, for a reason.

gbp dont want Khan and ortiz to fight so this one is the way to go.

no one cares about prescott anymore, also fighting lamont is better preperation for bradley than prescott

I think Khan will rematch Prescott, but probably in his last fight at 140

What's the reason they don't want ortiz vs khan?

Because if they fight, HBO loses one of it's investments.

they see these guys as $$$

they dont wanna cash out yet

Khan is being matched up with boxers rather than punchers because he is being prepared for a Mayweather fight. If you remember, Peterson put a whopping on Mayweather in a sparring match, so beating Peterson pretty much means he's just a fight or two away from beating Mayweather.

I think not for a while.

I can see Ortiz going up to 147 soon, i think what they will then do is make Maidana come up to 147 and fight Ortiz who will have a big size advantage, in the mean time IF khan beats Bradley, he will probably rematch Prescott and then move up to 147 too, at that point we may see a fight, but thats not for a good 18 months

With Prescott he may have not fought anyone of note since Khan, however everyone knows him for ko'ing him, and that image is going to be played throughout his career and beyond.
The fight can be billed as Khans revenge and allow Khan to put the fight behind before he becomes a superstar name.
Khan is a draw we already know this,he could fight Joe Cortez and the fight will sell in the UK..So him drawing a crowd won't be a problem,he needs to fight another fighter that will test certain flaws I saw(and I know Bradley saw)before he fights a Bradley/Alexander..No matter how ya slice it Peterson is a better fight then Prescott and a more dangerous one at this point..
